 Looking for Fig Cuttings-new varieties
« Thread Started on Mar 9, 2009, 6:46pm »

I'm new to this site. I live in central Florida and yes.. "LOVE" Edible Landscaping and Fruit trees. I've taken to figs and growing them in containers. I have a few varieties from several places but would love to purchase some cuttings (I don't have any to trade :-[ though.) Maybe you could help Mike... ;)

I'm hoping to locate:

Verte (Green Ischia)
Nero (Barnisotte sp?)
Excel
Kadota

I'm having excellent luck rooting cutting via the "bag" method described be Encanto Farms. However, I've modified it by dipping the exposed basal cuts in a solution of rooting hormone liquid and keeping the bags in a green pot of sphagnum moss in an old hippie bus. I've gotten initials and a good callus in just the past two days from a brown turkey this way! So please let me know you guys!!!!

Great thanks!!!

David
